THE ROLE:
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for delivering new business through existing client relationships, with a strong emphasis on capturing new clients, developing additional relationships, and identifying cross-sector growth opportunities.
As part of the senior management team, you will be responsible for meeting sales revenue targets and supporting our growth strategy.
ABOUT YOU:
- Education:
- You are well-educated, preferably with a Business Degree, though it’s not essential.
- Experience:
- You have been in a similar role for a while and have a minimum of 10 years’ experience within the Petrochemical, Energy, Brewing & Distillation sectors.
- You have a proven ability to proactively increase sales and close deals. You are a strong negotiator who works well with customers and suppliers, applying robust commercial acumen to maximise margins.
- You have developed and implemented sales strategies in the past.
- Building effective relationships internally and externally comes instinctively to you.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Plan, organise, and manage all sales and business development activities.
- Develop and maintain a sales pipeline to deliver growth.
- Identify and track new business opportunities in the CRM system and ensure client contact lists are maintained.
- Lead all tender activities, liaising with the technical team as appropriate, and prepare quotes and proposals.
- Responsible for customer introductions and ensuring client relationships are effectively managed, driving long-term partnerships and sustainable business growth.
- Develop a “strategic sell” approach for growing existing accounts and key target accounts, including pursuit plans.
- Proactively gather intelligence, research organisations, and targets to identify new business opportunities.
- Attend conferences, meetings, networking, and industry events.
- Contact potential clients via email or phone to establish rapport and set up meetings.
- Pitch products and services to prospective accounts.
- Work closely with the Marketing Partner to understand and align with marketing initiatives and client communications, ensuring brand continuity.
- Prepare PowerPoint presentations and sales tools as required.
