We’re looking for a practical, hands-on Semi-Skilled Labourer to join our team in Loanhead. You’ll support the fabrication and installation of precision pipework used across industries like distilling, energy and renewables.
This role is ideal for someone with mechanical aptitude who wants to continue growing into a skilled trade, with full training and career progression on offer.
What You’ll Do
- Support welders and pipefitters with materials, setup and fabrication
- Handle and prepare pipework, jigs and purging gear
- Assist with packing and logistics for site deliveries
- Help with hydrotest setups and pressure recording
- Maintain workshop safety and housekeeping standards
- Material handling, basic cutting/grinding, jig and purge setup.
- Packing and logistics for site deliveries; assist rigging/lifting on shutdowns.
- Help assemble hydro-test blanks, gauges and record pressures.
- Maintain housekeeping and follow HSE procedures.
What We’re Looking For
Essentials:
- 1 to 2 years’ experience in a mechanical or fabrication support role
- Safe use of hand tools, grinders and basic saws
- Able to read simple drawings
- UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel and complete drug and alcohol screening
- CSCS card (or willingness to obtain)
Nice to Have:
- Fork-lift and/or gantry crane ticket
- Confined-space, IPAF/PASMA, abrasive-wheels certs
- Hydro-test pump or in-situ machining familiarity
- Behavioural-safety / situational-awareness programme exposure
- ECITB/CCNSG Safety Passport
